The Story of How Golden Rule Mushrooms Was Created

By Your Mushy CEO

Golden Rule Mushrooms wasn’t born from a business plan.
It was born from lived experience—pain, transformation, and an unshakable mission.

My story starts young. At 15, I became an addict.
Like so many others, I was silently battling deep anxiety, depression, and an overwhelming need to be loved. Drugs gave me a false sense of relief and belonging. For five years, I was a homeless addict, just trying to survive the pain I didn’t know how to process.

At 20, my boyfriend died of an overdose.
It was the moment that changed everything.

I got on my knees and prayed to a God I wasn’t even sure I believed in…
I sold what I had and bought a one-way ticket out of the life I’d known. When I stepped off that plane, I promised myself I would never use again—and I never did.

But just because you decide to change your life doesn’t mean it gets easier right away. In fact, it often gets harder.
The years that followed were full of emotional and physical recovery. I had to rebuild—learning how to live, how to connect. Everything had to be relearned.

A friend invited me to the gym, and it was there—walking on a treadmill and eventually taking a cycling class—that I felt something I hadn’t felt in years: joy. The music, the movement, the endorphins… it woke something up in me. I left that class high on life, windows down, blasting music, thinking,
“Whatever this is, I’m going to bring it to the world.”

I will never forget it, because that is when my mission in life was born:
To impact the masses with the joy of wellness.

I went back to school, launched myself into entrepreneurship in the fitness industry, became a personal trainer, opened gyms, and eventually worked with major fitness celebrities. I launched one of the largest fitness festivals around and helped thousands transform their health.

It was a dream come true.

But as I rose into leadership and became a mom to two children—managing teams, changing diapers, building programs, and standing on stages—I realized something:
Even though I had healed physically, I hadn’t truly healed emotionally.
All the fear, shame, anxiety, and pain—all the trauma—were still inside me, and they started to surface.

I wasn’t showing up as the leader, mom, wife, and woman I knew I was meant to be.
And people could feel it.

I could no longer ignore what was going on inside of me.

In my early 20s, doctors had tried to put me on prescription medications—antidepressants, anti-anxiety meds—but I hated the way they made me feel. I stopped shortly after I started.
I had always been searching for natural solutions.

I was raised by my abuela, who believed in the healing power of the Earth long before it was trendy.
She brewed kombucha before Whole Foods knew what it was. She raised us on herbs, whole foods, and the belief that our bodies knew how to heal—if we listened.
That wisdom stayed with me.

At the same time that I was unraveling emotionally, I was watching my clients struggle. No matter how solid the fitness or nutrition plan was, if someone hadn’t addressed their inner world—if they hadn’t healed their beliefs, their identity, or their energy—it didn’t matter.
They always went back to who they were before.
And I knew why.

Because I had lived it.

I could no longer work in the fitness and nutrition industry knowing this truth. I let go of all my businesses. I had no idea what was next. I was in a complete free fall.

That is when I became obsessed with learning how true transformation takes place:
I became a master of neurolinguistic programming and dove headfirst into understanding what real transformation actually requires.
I went to Joe Dispenza retreats. I meditated, journaled, did breathwork, started shadow work. I microdosed. I kept going.

Eventually, my husband and I went to an ayahuasca retreat in Mexico.
It was hard. It cracked me open. And during one ceremony, I received a message I felt in every cell of my being:

You were born worthy. You’ve always been worthy. You will always be worthy.

And for the first time in my life, I believed it.

That moment—and the many before and after it—brought me closer to God than any church pew ever had.
And I knew then: My mission hadn’t changed.
It had deepened.
Still wellness. Still joy. Still impact.
But now—from the inside out.

And that’s how Golden Rule Mushrooms was born.

I saw a massive gap in the psychedelic space. Every brand felt too “out there.” Too psychedelic. Too disconnected from the everyday person.
Where was the brand for someone like me?
A mom in the suburbs. A high-performing entrepreneur.
Someone who’s curious—but nervous.
Someone who craves peace, clarity, creativity, and focus—but doesn’t want to take Adderall or pop a Xanax.

I was meant to be a bridge for others—and therefore, so was Golden Rule:
To make psychedelics approachable, elevated, safe, and aligned with the life you’re already living.
To help people step into the leader, parent, partner, and human they were always meant to be.
To show that healing isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about remembering yourself.

We don’t just sell wellness supplements—we offer some of the most powerful tools on the planet. We use the highest-quality, organic ingredients and cutting-edge technology to keep everything pure.

And our product maker? They were paralyzed from the waist down.
Told they’d never walk again. Medicated. Sedated.
But they didn’t accept that fate.
They healed themselves using mushrooms—functional and psychedelic.
And now, their life’s mission is to bring that same medicine to the world.

Golden Rule is the fusion of both of our stories—
Their healing.
My remembering.

Our mission to bring people the most transformative wellness tools available.

This is about reclaiming your peace.
Returning to who you really are.
And becoming the leader, lover, creator, and soul you’ve always known you could be.

This is the Golden Rule.
